Prof. Jigoro Kano defined the essence of Judo as “Maximum Efficiency with Minimum Effort” (“Seiryoku Zenyo” in Japanese). Completing his 20 year journey of exploring Judo, Moshe wrote in his book Higher Judo (1952), “....we teach to perform voluntary acts by such attitudes and in a manner similar to the reflex movements of our body, (so) that we obtain the same sensation of effortless action.” Effortless Action has become a fundamental concept of the Feldenkrais Method®. This workshop will present, in theory and practice, Effortless Action, linking Awareness Through Movement® with Moshe’s Judo.
