Conference 2012 2012 Conference ATM® Class Open To: Public / Practitioners / Trainees
Time(s): Cost: Free |
In Coordinating Flexors and Extensors, you’re instructed to tilt your legs in the direction of the crossed-over leg. In this series of intertwined lessons, from the beginning of the third year of the San Francisco training, Dr. Feldenkrais explores what happens when you tilt your legs the other way. Combining familiar lessons - “Sawing Arms” and “Spine like a Chain” - with a thread of unique ATMs, this sequence leads to a Judo-inspired surprise ending. Over the course of five mornings, Larry Goldfarb and Anastasi Siotas present a distillation of these intriguing lessons.
Some prior ATM experience is recommended.
Larry Goldfarb, PhD, GCFT (1983), became fascinated by the Feldenkrais Method® before the Amherst training ended, and his fascination has continued since he earned a doctorate in kinesiology. Larry brings what he learned to demystifying the method in teacher trainings, public workshops, and individual lessons. He is committed to articulating the logic of Feldenkraisian pedagogy and developing its practice. Larry is the founder of http://www.mindinmotion-online.com.
Anastasi Siotas (1997) works for Mind In Motion, teaching ATM and FI in gyms, schools, and physical therapy centers in NYC. He also teaches anatomy and kinesiology at the Laban Institute for Movement Studies. Anastasi has been anatomist Irene Dowd’s teaching assistant, with whom he continues to study.
