Description:

The MultiDimensional Singer Workshop: Center, Balance, & Focus Your Self, Your Singing, & Your Teaching

Would you like to: Reconnect with your singing voice? Reinvigorate your practice sessions? Realize the hidden potential in yourself and your singers? Reinvent how you teach voice in any setting?

Enjoy a learning retreat designed for singers, teachers, and choral conductors in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York! Ithaca College voice professor Carol McAmis and UMass Amherst music education professor Stephen Paparo combine their 35+ years of experience with the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education to offer a fresh perspective on building the imaginary instrument that is the singing voice. This two and a half day workshop explores the Feldenkrais Method and its applications to teaching and learning how to sing. The workshop offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a serene and supportive environment while learning fresh approaches to enhance your singing and teaching. You will experience several full-length Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® lessons as well as many shorter lessons that can be easily incorporated into practice sessions, lessons, or choral rehearsals. In addition, you will learn valuable and practical applications of the science of singing as well as engaging games that develop technical and artistic singing skills.
