This is a rare opportunity to learn from one the the great Feldenkrais® teachers of our time. No matter your age, you will learn to improve the basic function of dynamic, lively, and healthy walking. Ruthy Alon is one of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais’s original students, a Feldenkrais® senior trainer who teaches all over the world. She is the creator of the Bones for Life Program and the author of Mindful Spontaneity.
The five-day “Walk for Life” workshop will include walking outside with the use of walking poles, as well as an indoor Movement Laboratory with simple yet sophisticated and effective strategies to improve the quality of walking. The program utilizes evolutionary patterns of locomotion that have proven their efficiency throughout millions of years of survival.
YOU WILL LEARN…
Coordination: How to achieve harmonious cooperation between all body parts with an integrative perspective, awakening your organic intelligence of spontaneous self-correction.
Propulsion: How to use the alternating shifting of weight from one leg to the other in walking, and learning the undulating rhythmical wave for generating the propulsion of walking.
Impact: how to outsmart gravity in auto-mobilization by striking the foot onto the ground in a way that loads the body with the rebounding impact of upward elastic forces.
Alignment: how your skeleton can align into a streamlined trajectory for the transmission or the two-way force—the body mass bearing down, as well as the springy reaction up—streaming from end to end, without loss, deviation, or compression.
