It is a major principle of the Feldenkrais Method®, that in Awareness Through Movement® lessons the movements be done so they are reversible. When closely examined this is not really the case of how we teach or how our students participate in our lessons. We do not actually teach to that standard, nor did Moshe in Amherst. If we learn to pay precise attention to how we move sequentially over the ground, we find there are moments where we are actually, almost imperceptibly, falling and not stable, even if we are on the ground.
This workshop offers an in-depth look at what it actually means to move in ATM® in a way that is reversible. As we discover this difference in ourselves, it significantly changes how we approach certain aspects of Functional Integration® lessons. This what we will study in this advanced training.
In addition, on May 26, Jeff will give Functional Integration lessons to workshop participants for observation, review and discussion for those who wish to stay and learn from the lessons.
