Description:
Part of the Richard Ehrman Memorial Feldenkrais Series
Sympathetic = flight or flight, anxiety, muscular tension & inflammation
Parasympathetic = rest & relaxation, easy breathing, clear thinking
Our unconscious autonomic nervous system is meant to fluidly transition from sympathetic to parasympathetic dominance depending on the needs of the moment. Many of us live is a continuous state of over-arousal of the sympathetic nervous system, keeping us locked in patterns of anxiety, pain and excessive tension.
In this workshop we will explore how Awareness Through Movement lessons can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, helping to bring you into a greater state of balance, ease and harmony in body, mind, & musical performance.
