About Board Bulletin. We have decided to communicate with members directly through a regular “Board Bulletin” that will be easily identified as coming from the FGNA Board of Directors. We welcome your comments.
This year’s annual assembly of the International Feldenkrais® Federation took place May 22-26 in Soesterberg, The Netherlands. (The IFF is the federation of Feldenkrais guilds around the world, and its website is: www.feldenkrais-method.org). FGNA sent one representative, Rob Black, and NATAB sent Liza Weaver Brickey as their representative. The Board received daily communications from Rob about the many exciting topics emerging internationally. Look for more in the upcoming issue of In Touch.
A number of practitioners have expressed confusion about the Continuing Competency Policy. The intent of the policy is to encourage practitioners to self-reflect on their own required skills and professional development rather than mandate a certain number of hours and designated courses in order to maintain competency. There is sufficient flexibility in the policy to accommodate practitioners who wish to continue to meet their ongoing learning needs just as they did before the new policy; for example, to meet their 20 hours of learning by going to the annual Conference.
